DNA Nanorobot Triggers Targeted Therapeutic Responses

Here is the link for the article.

What got me interested in this article was the fact that it combined the topics of nanotechnology and cancer research. The researchers at Harvard have developed a robot-like structure, composed of DNA, that is on the nano scale. It is categorized with nanobots because even though it is composed of biological components, it can also perform robot like tasks. This DNA robot can target specific cells and give them instructions. The researchers who designed this innovative form of technology modeled it off of our body's own immune system. This relates to the cancer research that I'm interested in because the robot can target cancer cells and tell them to self destruct. This relates to our studies in class because it has to do with DNA and cellular biology as well as nano technology.
