The Association between Fish Consumption and Risk of Renal Cancer: A Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
Renal cancer is a multifactorial disease, with both hereditary and environmental components playing a role. It is about 2% of all cancers worldwide affecting both genders. Although the cause of renal cancer is still unknown, however diets have been found to be one of the factors that could develop renal cancer; especially the diets that focus on consuming red meats such as fish. This paper studied the relation between fish consumption and the risk of renal cancer. Sensitivity analysis and cumulative meta-analysis were also performed in this study.
From the year of 1990 till 2011, 9,324 renal cancer cases were conducted. Meta-analysis showed that fish consumption did not significantly affect the risk of renal cancer
