Chinese man has new nose grown on forehead
Howdy,
So I saw this article on Google news today and I thought it was probably one of the most interesting things I've seen in a while. There was a 22 year old man in china that got into a traffic accident that led to nasal trauma and infection. This led to nasal corrosion. The doctors wanted to help him out so they started to grow a nose on his forehead. The actual method was not discussed in the article was not mentioned, but the article clearly shows a newly grown nose that is slightly diagonally on top his forehead. The surgeons plan on waiting for the nose to be fully grown before surgically moving the nose around to the right place on his face.

I find this article very interesting because they literally grew another body part on a living human being. So far everything seems to be working well for the surgeons. I assume that the reason for this success is because the nose is made mostly of cartilage. Cartilage has little to no blood supply. I believe that this correlation is the reason for the success in this procedure.
So in conclusion, I highly recommend everyone to see the article. Its not a really long article but it is very interesting to read. It shows promise for the future of biomedical engineering.
