Tissue Engineering in the Works

You all might remember a while ago, about 2008, a story of a woman in Spain who became the first in the world to get a new part of her body made from her own stem cells. If you watch the video, you can be reminded of why tissue engineering is such an important field to continue building upon.

And seen below: a year ago, bioengineers were able to construct a functional set of lungs!!!

It is only a matter of time before ANY body part can be replaced...hopefully!
