UW engineers invent programming language to build synthetic DNA
This
article was about the creation of a programming language for chemistry that
will help to control reactions. The goal was to create systems for creating new
molecules that are more adaptable. Currently, once a system has been designed
to create a certain molecule, it doesn't repurpose easily. This is the starting
block to create a system with much more flexibility and one day, creating a new
system to make specific molecules could be as easy as reprogramming the machine
that makes it.
I think that this is pretty cool because of all its possible
applications. Maybe one day, with the help of machines and systems like these,
it will be possible to create drugs specifically tailored for each individual
person.
