The benefits of Swine Flu

When the Swine Flu pandemic hit, it created mass chaos and panic from the general populous who were terrified that it may be the next Spanish Influenza. Luckily for the many of us who caught it, it wasn't and, it seems, may have actually be beneficial. The antibodies that the body produced to combat this disease appear to not be as specialized as antibodies for the normal flu. This means that they can latch on to other strains of the flu and garner additional protection from other strains. This may mean that we are inching our way closer to a pan-influenza vaccine.
