How Video Gamers' Brains are Different!
Ok so it's all been said before how video games improve your hand-eye coordination. Some researchers wanted to see this in more detail. They took two groups of people. One group had extensive video game experience (at least four hours a week over the previous three years) and the control did not play video games. Each of the test subjects were placed in a fMRI and given visuomotor tasks. The results found that subjects without extensive gaming experience showed increased activity in the parietal cortex, typically associated with hand-eye coordination. The experienced gamers showed increased activity in the prefrontal cortex at the front of the brain.
