Inside the Mind of a Psychopath

This particular article caught my attention because I have seen what psychopaths are capable of. They kidnap children from slums and sell them justifying it by saying that they will have a better life where they are going; rape women because they can without any remorse or guilt; murder innocent people for the greater good. They all of this with any emotions. It has long been understood that psychopaths have no emotions, or that they lack the ability to feel emotions. Until recently all that had been known about these people were through behavioral studies. Now, due to the ability to scan the brain in real time, it is understood that psychopaths have a biological defect. There are certain regions of the brain which do not function properly. Due to these defects, they process information differently, and have a learning disability where emotion is concerned. They cannot distinguish emotional facial expressions, or tones of others. According to this article about 500,000 psychopaths are behind bars, but there are about 250,000 that live free. They all have the capability to commit crimes because of their lack of emotion and fear. If we better understand this disease, than maybe we can treat them and make it safer for them to live free.
